Star Citizen managed to raise almost $100m from Kickstarter and through other crowdfunding means, which just goes to show how highly anticipated it is. It brings together solo, cooperative, FPS, third-person, open-world gameplay, space exploration and hand-to-hand combat into one shiny package that we can't wait to open.
The release date is questionable - we're told 2016 but we're rapidly running out of months left in the year and with no solid release date yet revealed it could well mean we've still got a while to wait.

Best games coming out in 2016: Titanfall 2 Release date: 28 October 2016 Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC With Titanfall clocking up an impressive 10 million players, it's no surprise that the upcoming sequel is highly anticipated.
